I thought I would try some cables...

Ok, I told you that I have never knit cables before... well, I have done it once with drastically bad results so I let it lie for a while. Fast forward one year... I have started a new cable project. A cable knit scarf and hat set. I want to make a bunch for Christmas gifts this year. Maybe, if I start it in July, I will finish at least one by Christmas... hopefully!!

So, the yarn is wool from KnitPicks, and not the right gauge... but it is good to start with!!

However, the sad part of this story is that since it was made from wool, one of my larger dogs... not MY little pom, ... chewed up the bottom left corner of the scarf...all that work... I could scream... or I can just throw it out and start over!! I think I will start over since it was coming along so beautifully!! Bo and Coach (my larger dogs) love to chew on all of my wool. They are worse than moths!!

So anyway, that is what I have been working on... and now have to start over!! Oh well, such is life! It had a few issues anyway, which was why I was gonna keep it instead of wrapping it up for someone.

Well, I have laundy to get finished and get running around town doing my errands!!

I told you I would be right back...

Ok so, I said that but I couldn't make it back. Yesterday was the Fourth of July, and S had closing ceremonies for tee ball. We were told to meet at the field at 9:30, but that wasn't accurate! We had to get him to the other side of town for him to ride on the Little League Parade Float. Now when I think "float", I think of flat bed trailers being hauled by a normal pickup truck... oh no not this day! He rode on a flat bed Mack truck!!! I was worried, slightly, like any good mother might be! But he did great and was excited to see me when he passed us on the street. He got a trophy and a medal for his participation in Little League. Then they played a short, run through the roaster, game. But that didn't start until after 11:30. But he had fun and that is really all that matters.
Then, we went to my parents house for the city wide country fair and picnic. We missed a bunch of the fun and went home around 7:00 in the evening.

D and I spent the evening watching "The Great Escape", you know the one with Steve McQueen. It was good but really long.

Anyway, I would like to use this blog as a journal for myself and my crafts! I haven't been working on much lately but I need to get after it. I am working on a sweater set for my friend who is having a baby in September! I am almost finished and then I need to make several crayon rolls for my mom's business, and maybe some dolls. I really love crafting and sewing but I need to spend more time doing it. I need to make it a priority. I think that I need to set aside time everyday for "work", and then that might work. I really need to figure this out, and quick!
